At the age of 14 a friend of my father ( a photographer) lent me an old developer kit to create my own black and white pictures in a dark room. My father had a 35mm voightlander camera I could use and that was it : my very first steps in photography. I recall that camera very well: it had sort of lightmeter indication ( a needle ) in the viewfinder that allowed you to see if your picture was properly exposed. And not to forget the robust brown leather cover !
I even took macro pictures with that old camera : How ? improvise ! Just hold a 'glas lens' infront of it and only photograph at a distance of 21 cm. I figured that out by holding some semitransparant paper instead of the film while the back of the camera was open. The 'lens' was from pair of broken round glasses.
I allowed my self a couple of upgradess since then:
Since that time photography has been an on/off kind of thing for me I still enjoy taking pictures a LOT , although I try to limit post processing to a minimum.
My camera's ? I started with the voightlander of which I do not recall the model. (USD $75 on e-bay° since I last checked)
My next ones in a row : Olympus 0m101 , Nikon D70s, Nikon D90, Nikon D7000, Nikon Z7 II . Only the last 2 camera's are still around. And if I travel I usuallly take an all in one Fuji camera with me.
